OVERVIEW:
SYKES is a Data Science Engineer who will discover, develop and deploy Analytical and Big Data Application solutions that support the companies’ Analytics and Digital Transformation initiatives.
You will develop software applications in varied and challenging technical domains, including, real-time streaming, Big Data, Web Interface, PCI security, cloud services, multi-media, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning as well as analyze large, unstructured datasets using Data Science tools and techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembles large, complex data sets that meet business requirements.
Builds the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using relational, document, graph and data lake technologies.
Models problem domains in relational, document and graph technologies as required.
Creates data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
Works with architects and software development and UX teams to invent, plan, design and develop processes and applications.
Creates, evaluates and deploys machine learning models to provide real-time predictions to improve business processes.
Creates programming modules and performs software development tasks (design, development, testing, maintenance) as part of a development team.
Creates web-sites, web-based dashboards and data visualizations that enhance the organization’s ability to understand data and make decisions.
Researches, studies and investigates new Data Science technologies and disseminates the information to the group and enterprise.
Build analytics tools that a data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.
Creates scripts, jobs, monitors and interfaces to facilitate deployment and productization of applications and solutions.
Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
Create functional and technical documentation including "as-built" documents, dashboard design specifications, operating manuals, release notes and security requirements for reports created and maintained.
Perform quality assurance testing of User Interfaces, Application interfaces, code and processes.
Analyses, troubleshoots and solves development and production software issues as required.
Works with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated ability to drive results, initiate processes and work proactively.
Demonstrated ability to gather the appropriate level of detail when generating project specification.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service, organization and communication skills.
Web development technologies: HTML, Javascript, Jquery, SQL, one or more web application platforms (eg Flask, ASP)
Experience in Application development with Python, R, C#, java, JavaScript, Golang.
Ability solve problems using Analytical and Data Science methods, modeling, clustering, Machine Learning and others.
Knowledge of Application and Data Security.
Experience with Azure cloud services: Data Lake, Event Hubs, ML studio, DevOps etc.
Proficient understanding of Streaming Technologies.
Experience with relational SQL, NoSQL and Graph databases like Neo4j, Document DB and others.
